Experience

Marielle is a Filipina creator, death doula, and civil engineer. She enjoys guiding others through their end-of-life options and encouraging them to talk more openly about death, dying, grief, and loss. Marielle completed the Going With Grace End of Life Training in 2018 and continues moving forward on her journey as a death doula. She previously worked in public service for transportation agencies with a focus on design and construction management. She merges her background in public service with deathcare through serving others, understanding their needs, and approaching relationships with empathy. Marielle enjoys encouraging others to start end-of-life planning at any age or stage in their lives.

When she's not nerding out about transportation infrastructure, she likes to share her death explorations on Instagram (@thedeathengineer), create blockprinted greeting cards, and finding ways to incorporate puns into every conversation. Some items on her funeral wish list include public transit options to get there and a chocolate fountain.
